Many of you will already be familiar with the area of Benidorm and are most likely returning for a second, third, fourth…or fifth time or more! but what about those of you who are ”first timers”? it all depends on what kind of holiday you are planning on, but it you’ve decided on Benidorm it’s not hard to imagine that you are here to have a blimmin’ good time!

Walking about in the Costa Blanca….

Why not try something a bit different?

A lot of people have been talking to me lately about doing something different this summer rather then just going to the beach and doing the usual ”touristy” things that the Costa Blanca offers, so after doing a bit of reserach I thought of something I haven’t done myself yet…Mountaing walking! (Or Hiking as some more experienced people would call it)… yes I know, what can be so great about a bit of walking? but after looking in to it a bit, I found some magnificent areas to explore with some fantastic views! Walking or Hiking ( or any other physical activity for that matter) isn’t for everybody but if you’re thinking of improving your health without having to submit yourself to gruelling hours at the gym, why not try and see  what our lovely Costa Blanca mountains have to offer?

Costa Blanca Golf

The Costa Blanca is without a doubt one of the best golfing locations in Spain, and in effect, the Golfers’ paradise.

With over fifteen 18-hole courses around the Costa Blanca, all located within approximately 2 hours of Benidorm itself, It’s no surprise why so many men ( and women!) choose this destination for their golfing holidays.

Fancy a bit of this?

Some of the courses have actually been designed by the legendary, late-great Seve Ballesteros himself ,  and even host Spanish championships from time to time, as well as being regularly amongst the top courses in the world!

If you want to mix golf & Benidorm together, you have a fantastic base with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, aswell as four golf courses within a 5 minute drive.

“Sierra Cortina” is perfectly suited to beginners. It’s a very short, par-3 course, with very little “trouble”.

Las Rejas” is slightly longer and more challenging but a great place to work on your short game.

Then you have the two courses on the “Villaitana Hotel Complex“.

“The Poniente” is a par-62, 18 hole course (ten par-3s and eight par-4s) which makes for a great test and is perfect for the slightly more seasoned golfer.

And finally, at the same complex, you have “The Levante” course which is recognised as one of the finest championship courses in all of Spain.

Whichever of the two Villaitana courses you choose, once your round’s over, you can enjoy a long, cool drink on the extensive balcony and take in the stunning views across the fairways.

Now, if you don’t mind travelling a little further, there are plenty of other courses within easy reach.

There’s a great course, Javea Golf Club, about 45 minutes up the coast and “El Plantio” back towards the airport on the out-skirts of Alicante city.

One thing’s for sure, wherever you stay, and whichever courses you play, you will not be disappointed with what the Costa Blanca has to offer the enthusiastic golfer.

At www.hotels.tv/benidorm we have some great golf packages on offer! We’ll take care of all your accommodation needs, arrange your private airport transfers and travel to and from the courses.

Horse Riding in Benidorm – Where to go?

If you’re looking for a fun activity to do whilst on your holidays in Benidorm, how about trying out something different like Horse riding?
Horse riding offers a great workout for both the mind and body, physically boosting the cardiovascular system and mentally easing stresses on the mind, just the thing you need after those long days beside the pool or down the beach or even after a heavy night out clubbing!

The place to go is ”Rancho Sierra Helada”, a perfect location situated in the Sierra Helada Mountains (between Albir and Benidorm) located behind the Excalibur Medieval Castle in Albir.
